The Seeeeaaaaaa

7/12

Today (or rather last night but it was late) we added a new member to our order: Iñaki! He's going to be our photography teacher and he's awesome.

Also, I meant to post this like ages and ages ago, but if'n you'd like to see the official Barat Foundation blog, who's updating is basically the whole point of my internship, you can visit it here.

Today we took another excursion to the Mediterranean Sea!

We went to a different beach this time, which means we took a different route through the countryside. And since France has every climate America has, just scrunched into one little country, the landscape was like we were in a whole different country.

It was a long ride...

Driving past a lake.

Saw this and thought of the parentals... :P

First view of the sea!

Seeeeaaaa!

My sandal broke so I was walking with just one shoe on...

The view of the sea from where we laid out our stuffs.

We made a friend named Henry who was here for a post-high school trip and this was his last day in Europe; he'd been taking the train through Germany, Prague, France, and Holland and I was so excited and then we he said he was gonna go get a drink of water cause the water was like SUPER salty and then he never came back... jerk... :P

But it's okay because then we got crepes and they were delicious and Henry was missing out.

Coffee!

Look how adorable that spoon is.

Umbrella on the loose! Mistral: gets ya every time.

After we were done eating we set off to explore the town!

This pastry shop was SO DELICIOUS.

So many cookies... I got a star anise-flavoured one. It reminded me of chai tea.

And so many candied fruits!

I love that we all share everything we buy. :)

Fountain!

Built under the reign of King Louis XVI.

I love that the biggest size ice cream cone is called "The American."

They never have "Gretchen" in America... Then I saw this and I was like, "Maëlys? That's awesome... it makes sense that the names their common names would be different than ours." Note to self: Next time I'm in Germany, I'm gonna find a Gretchen necklace.

KINDER FLAVOURED ICE CREAM APOIWEUPOQIWENFJZOAIDFOUWIEH I ALMOST PEED MY PANS I WAS SO EXCITED.

...then everyone made fun of me.

I also got lavender flavour and honey flavour, cause it was three scoops for three euro. The lavender was the most realistic flavour I've ever tasted -- it was like the smell of lavender had been captured and transformed directly into ice cream.

We were to meet up in front of Nino, and Arianna's instructions were, "So at 4:45, make sure you find Nino." Ahhhhhhhhhhh I see whatcha did there.

Last view of the port.

Emma and I are constantly putting flowers in our hair... Today when we were walking down the beach Larissa started picking them for me. :P
