Last Market in Apt

7/16

Apt has its market every Saturday morning, which means... today was our last Apt market. D:

I love this town so much.

Emma was on the hunt for raisins.

Then we stumbled upon this book store, which was one of the most adorable shops I've seen the entire trip. Go ahead, ask me what I bought. HAMLET! In French! I was geeking out the entire rest of the day.

From the front you had no idea this shop extended so far into the heart of this ancient building with this cave-like interior. And of course every available surface was piled high with stacks and stacks of books, on everything from classical literature to medicine to...

The Wrath of Khan! It was all just too much. :P

There street performers everywhere today.

We bought something similar to that wee mouse in the foreground for my sister when we went to the Christmas marts in Germany. Also, in the background, kind of hard to tell, is a Charlie Chaplin doll.

This guy was great -- so eager to have me sample everything -- and he told me I had a great accent! I was flattered. I told him that I was interning in France and he thought that was so neat. I agreed. :P And then when I told him I wanted to try his hot chili spread, he pulled out a fire extinguisher from behind the counter before handing me the sample. Favourite person I've met at the markets, hands-down.

Coffee syrup. I was practically drooling.

A wee pottery shop I stepped in to.

"Angel Hair."

"Aristocats" and "Lady and the Tramp" were two of my favourite movies EVER when I was little.

The boys grilled us some burgers for lunch today.

I also had a soft-boiled egg for the first time in such a long time, I'd forgotten just how much I loved them!

Dear mom, if you're reading this... I want a soft-boiled egg for breakfast the first day I'm back. :P
