The Big Apple

6/23

So the day started out with a wee tour of the S.A. Bendheim glass factory.

Oh, how sweet of them!

Mom stays at the factory and it's off to the Big Apple for Molly, Dad, and I!

TRAINS.

I LOVE trains.

Molly... does not seem to share my enthusiasm...

Ah, she's cheered up. :P

me: "Mind the gap!"
Molly: "IF YOU SAY THAT ONE MORE TIME."
heeheehee...

Uh.... AWESOME STEPS??!

Free ice cream! Molly's response? "It's COLD!"

Kokopelli visits Times Square.

Enjoying a fine day at Times Square... in the rain.

DELICIOUS.

Most people pose at the head of the Bull, but you know whatever floats your boat...

Moral support from the subway.

Sculptures outside Trinity.

After a quarter of Art History, I was majorly geeking over this door...

Just ridin' the subway.

We leave the city (and the monsoon) behind.

DELICIOUS.

SUPER TRAVELER!

Tell your friends.

Molly stops for lunch.

Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling Polish chocolate. HEAVEN.

As always, must make a stop into the closest pet shop.

These bagels were enormous!

Seriously! Look! It's bigger than my hand! Okay, I know my hands are tiny but LOOK AT THAT THING!

Dad: "Buster Keaton!"
Me: "I LOVE HIM!"
Molly: "That's nice."

Oh man, but your garbage just looks so interesting!

Feels like I'm right back at college... :P

Meditation on the subway. Gotta admit, I was impressed.

About to take the train back to Jersey... But, uh, this could be a challenge...

Turns out there was an electrical problem and the trains simply... were not running. At all.

People weren't amused...

Plan B: Bus station!

...W...?

Another problem: bus alternative is everyone else's alternative as well. There were lines literally snaking throughout the station.

Ah, New York's public schooling at work!

Finally, we're on the bus, we're on our way, and the city fades into the distance, still shrouded in cloud cover.
